The Elephant - Pie & A Pint Night

So Bristol Whipped has been to The Elephant before - it was Christmas, there was lovely food and seductive lighting, etc etc.

This time we went along to sample Pie & A Pint Night!!!

It was fairly early when we got there so still quite quiet. After some painful deliberation (it's hard to make decisions - especially about pie!) we went for the beef based pie and the mushroom & cream cheese based pie with puff pastry - meat eaters and vegetarians alike rejoice!

He with the beef pie loved it, nice and juicy, loving the extra crispy roast potatoes (you can chose from chips, mash or roasties).
She with the mushroom pie found the pie very very tasty but as it was cream cheese saucy bits it wasn't quite as moist as she would've chosen, plus she also found the potatoes just slightly too crispy - if that's even possible! But apart from that very enjoyable!

The Bristol Whipped team were especially impressed by the option of Staropramen at the bar, especially after getting rather hooked on the stuff on a journey to Prague earlier in the year (and if you're into that they also have Pilsner Urquell and Budvar)!

The wine selection is amazing and there is plenty to choose from - ranging from basic to very fancy stuff!

So apart from a couple of slightly tough veggies the meal was extremely nice and the Bristol Whipped team cannot recommend The Elephant enough as a great place to just chill out in a relaxing, comfortable and classy atmosphere.
Plus the location is great - very central and easy to get to, even if you may not have paid enough attention to it before!

Top Tip - If they start serving the African curry again any time soon you must give it a try - really unique flavours!

  1. I can exclusively update this and let you know that they have a very good gin selection! (Very important in our eyes).
Make sure you try the No. 209 - delicious!
